Here are a few of the design methods I used to conduct and process my design research.
The AEIOU design method helped me to organize my many observations and summarize what I had discovered while visiting the river.
Every element for installation in the river went through one or more revisions, all due to the need for the project to be robust enough to withstand the harsh river environment.
Top left: typical example of tubers floating through Texas Wild Rice before the installation of buoys in the San Marcos River. Other images show the many people in and around the water, coolers, and picnic equipment brought to the banks of the river. The bottom four images show people floating around Texas Wild Rice or working to avoid it.
